Blinded by sin

“God recently has been talking to me about sin and what to think of it and do with it. Recently I heard someone say that sin is human nature, humans don’t know what they’re doing is wrong, but giving your life to God removes the cataracts and blindness and allows us to see what sin is. I have also been thinking about Christians and how we struggle with sin, especially with non-christians around us. Us as Christians tend to hide our Love for God and we don’t show others our love for God. We also don’t fear God enough. God is the most powerful thing ever. He created the most deadly animals, he created everything that we fear. But we still don’t fear God. It’s so dumb to be afraid when you know you worship a God who holds you in his arms and who controls everything going on around you. It looks like we fear death more than we fear God. But God conquered death so why be afraid of something that is much weaker than the other? Everywhere I go I see Christians sinning and not showing other people that they are different. For example, what I see a lot these days, is the struggle with Alcohol and parties and going out. When everyone is drinking, why don’t we just say no. Why do we drink Alcohol if we don’t want to get drunk? Because it tastes nice? Milkshakes tastes nice, juice tastes nice.. Why do we sin, if we don’t want to die? Sin seems like it taste nice to begin with, but in the end it’s bitter and it’s disgusting. But the love of God is the most beautiful thing in the world. From beginning to end. So why don’t we show others that we are different? Why don’t we think before we do. If you really loved God and feared him, you wouldn’t pick up that drink, you wouldn’t join in with the crude jokes, you wouldn’t join in the bullying, you wouldn’t sin. But sometimes we are so distracted and tempted by so many other useless things and it’s like we are getting those cataracts back and the blindness is coming back. For example, this week, I was so caught up in assignments that I didn’t read the Bible, I didn’t really think about God and I hardly prayed. It’s just these small things that seem so important or makes you feel good but is just useless. Solomon in the Bible, tested everything that make people feel good. He had the life of a worldly king. But in the end he teaches us that nothing is as good as it seems. Nothing is as good as the one who created us. Nothing is as good as the almighty GOD. Let’s show the non-Christians the love that God has shown us.
