Worrying times, creates fertile hearts

This is a very strange time for everyone right now. I know for me personally, it has taken a toll on many things in my life right now, and I assume it has for you as well. Coronavirus has caused probably the weirdest time we will ever experience. The whole world is on hold. I want to encourage you with something, don’t waste this time. This is possibly the best time for us. I know that people have been exercising, learning new skills and doing things like that and that is honestly so good, but there is a much more important thing we can be focusing on right now. One thing we could be doing is improving our relationship with God. A lot of us have loads of time on our hands, let’s take this time to read the Bible, pray and grow in Christ. I encourage you, get rid of your distractions for now because I guarantee that your relationship with God is far more important than anything else. Whether it be TV shows, video games, exercise, learning or even relationships, take that extra step to put God before all of this and grow. Another thing we can do is start talking to others about God. Look at your lost and unsaved friends. This is the perfect time to focus on telling them what God has done in your life and how Jesus has saved you. At this worrying time, people look around because they are confused with what is happening. People are concerned and it’s the perfect time to plant that seed of Christ. I challenge you, pick one or more lost friends that you have in your life and really talk to them about Jesus. I know it’s scary talking to them about this because they might make fun of you or even just stop talking to you, but if you truly loved them, you would do whatever it takes to help show them the truth.

Last thing I wanted to encourage you to do is focus on your saved brothers and sisters. Whether they are new Christians, older, younger or whatever. Really help them as much as you can grow to know God and encourage them to share God’s word with others. So often we get caught up with the world, we forget about the most important thing; God. Schedule a day to jump on a call together and read, pray or even just chat about God. Let’s do all these things together. I know distance is a bit awkward and stuff and we might be locked in our houses or whatever. To be honest though, it doesn’t matter at all because the Gospel can’t be chained up. Paul was in prison and he still shared the gospel and he definitely did not have the resources we have today. So please, throw out the excuses and let’s do this. We got this! 2 Timothy 2:9

“For which I am suffering, bound with chains as a criminal. But the word of God is not bound!”
