Shane & Shane songs

There are 2 songs by Shane and Shane that are so amazing and I wanted to share to everyone about. I recommend checking out both songs because I ain't doing it justice. The album is Bring Your Nothing.

You loved my heart to death -

This song is about how we deserved to be the one who died on that cross. How we are selfish, we choose ourselves instead of him. We deserve so much pain and we deserve so much misery and suffering. We deserve God's wrath. But even though we spit in the face of God, he sent his son down to take that wrath we deserve. Jesus took the pain that all of us should have gone through. He literally loved out heart to death. The least we can do is give him everything we have, even everything we have isn't enough. Yet we still struggle giving him everything we have. We blame him for everything that goes wrong in our lives even though we deserve so much more. I could go on and on about how much grace was shown to us. I encourage us all to try and give him our everything.

Crucify him -

This song is about how we constantly try use God when feel like we need him and leave him when we feel like we don't. Shane & Shane talk about their reasoning behind this song. They spoke about palm Sunday, everyone was worshiping Jesus and praising him. That same week, they decided to crucify him. It's weird that they loved him and praised him one day, and a few days later they decide to crucify Him. But wait, doesn't this sound familiar? We constantly do this. We start praising him on a Sunday and during the week we keep sinning and we spit in His face. Where is the consistency? Praising God shouldn't be a rare thing or a once a week thing, it should be a 24/7 thing. We should be in constant communication with God. Something I have realised recently is that once you start being constantly in communication with God... you don't have time to sin, you don't have the thought and when you do have the temptation of sinning, it's so easy to step out of that temptation. I encourage us all to try and be in communication with God 24/7 and not be like those people that praised one day and then crucified him a few days later.

God bless 💙
